The 35 hours of education must be specially related to one of the topics in the PMI Talent Triangle®(Project management technical skills, leadership skills, or business skills).
The course must have been structured and there must be contact with the trainer or organization such that your actual attendance or learning time is being tracked. Courses could have been done by training companies, formal e-learning courses, courses internal to your company, or university courses.
Unstructured learning such as watching YouTube videos does not count.
If one course was less than 35 hours then you need to add additional courses in your application until the 35-hour minimum is reached.
You can go as far back in time as you like, the courses do not need to be recent.
The courses do not have to be PMI approved courses. We certainly recommend that if you want to increase your chances to pass the exam you take a course from an Authorized PMI Training Provider, however this is not mandatory.
